Aguero can fire City to the Premier League title

Manchester City have been a different beast since Pep Guardiola took over at the helm but nobody expected the Blues to adapt to his intense methods and new-look system as quickly as they have.

City are unbeaten under the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss and it would be fair to say that, just one month into the new campaign, they are already looking like THE team to beat in the race for the Premier League crown...

Guardiola has had a positive effect on the majority of the City squad but perhaps the biggest beneficiary has been Sergio Aguero. The Argentina man was impressive under both Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini but Pep has managed to take Aguero to the next level – and that is a key reason for their dominance in England’s top flight so far.

The City forward has always been on the cusp of breaking into the elite and Guardiola is the right man to ensure that he performs at the top of his game on a consistent basis. Aguero has been on fire this season, netting a sensational 11 goals in just seven games for City – and he looks destined to win the Golden Boot after coming so close in the previous campaign.

At the time of writing, Aguero is an industry-best 13/8 to finish as the top goalscorer with Betway and those betting on football and its season-long bets should consider backing the Argentina man. At present, it is beginning to look inevitable - only a serious injury will hinder his chances of finishing as the top goalscorer in England's top flight this season.

And with the instrumental Kevin de Bruyne, creative mastermind David Silva and a confident Raheem Sterling, City have enough talent in attacking areas to generate plenty of chances for Aguero upfront; and that is exactly what Guardiola will be expecting in the coming months. After all, the Blues boss has already demanded more from his potent offensive unit...

The Argentina star has scored 107 goals in just 147 Premier League appearances - making him one of the best finishers in the business; potentially rivalled only by Luis Suarez and Robert Lewandowski. When fully fit, the 28-year-old is lethal and City fans will be expecting their main man to bag a hatful of goals in Guardiola’s silky offense.

It will take some doing but City could topple the ton mark this year if they continue at their current rate. As of September 30th, the Blues have scored 18 goals in six league games – an exact average of three goals per game.

Based on that form, City are on target to net 114 goals; which would be a top flight record in the Premier League era. If Guardiola’s sides are brilliant at one thing, it is scoring goals and playing entertaining football. With Aguero leading the line, anything is possible and if that potency is maintained then multiple trophies will be heading to the Etihad.

The title race is far from over but Manchester City are looking superior in all departments – especially in attack. With the red-hot Aguero firing in the goals, Pep Guardiola’s men could romp to the crown. Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal will push them close but it is hard to back against City right now; the Blues are just that little bit too strong.
