Beckham impressed by facilities at St George's Park

Former England captain David Beckham, who holds the record for the most number of appearances by any outfield player for the national team, says that he is extremely impressed with the facilities at St George’s Park. The England FA spent a huge amount of money in order to build this state of the art facility to help players train and rest better. The facility has been done after the England FA drew inspiration from the likes of France and Germany, who have similar facilities built in the last decade.
They have contributed immensely to the development of young footballers, who have in turn made the national teams extremely strong. England have been extremely poor at international level for the last few decades and the lack of development amongst youngsters has been attributed as one of the reasons. Coaches are also not regarded to be at the same level as more of the best in the world. St George’s Park will not only be acting as a facility to improve players but also managers. Beckham says that he is extremely impressed by the facilities on offer. The former midfielder has played for some of the best teams in the world like AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Manchester United.
He is in the best possible position to comment about the facilities. “It is really amazing, I’m so impressed. It’s peaceful, and you can feel it respects the history of our game even though this particular facility has only been open for two years. It’s nice to hear rooms are named after certain players and the fans have voted for like the ‘Paul Gascoigne Room’ or the ‘Bobby Moore Room’. It’s special. Obviously we always played on nice pitches, but to have pitch like this to train on every day is incredible. I’ve not been to many facilities around the world as good as this,” said Beckham.
