In the past decades, the major battle that was also regarded as the biggest in the English Premier League was the fixture between Manchester United and Liverpool. The two teams dominated English football back in the day and with the giant clubs also the most successful in the land, especially talking about trophies won, they are both crucial pieces of the history of the Premier League.
However, tables have turned in recent years and Manchester City have replaced United as Liverpool's fiercest rivals and major Premier League threat.

Leeds United midfielder Robin Koch has been ruled out of the rescheduled Premier League game with hosts Liverpool on Wednesday night after he suffered an head injury in the last league game at home to Manchester United on Sunday. Koch was confirmed as an absentee for the Liverpool game by Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa during his pre-match presser on Tuesday ahead of the league clash billed to take place at Anfieldlater this week.

Chelsea have been boosted with the return to form of star striker RomeluLukakuwho has struggled with Covid-19 and injuries. He scored the opening goal of the Brighton and Hove Albion game on Wednesday night to make it two goals in as many league matches.
Lukaku scored for the first time in the league since his return from injury against Aston Villa in the penultimate fixture for Chelsea. He came off the bench during the half-time break in the place of young defender Trevor Chalobah with the scoreline at 1-1 after a Jorginho spot kick wiped out the opening goal of the game from Reece James (own goal) off the cross from Villa left-back Matt Targett.

Brighton and Hove Albion have maintained their extraordinary record of avoiding defeat against West Ham United in the Premier League era after they secured a late draw in the latest meeting between the two clubs in the competition. Frenchman Neal Maupay scored a spectacular goal with a minute left on the clock in the colours of Brighton to record a 1-1 draw at the home of the Hammers.
