RIBERY CAN BE MATCH WINNER

French national team manager Didier Deschamps has said that the Bayern Munich winger, Franck Ribery, has the potential to become the match winner against Spain in the World Cup qualifying match.

France will be taking on Spain in this crucial encounter knowing that they can pull away from the World and European champions if they manage a victory from the match. Despite saying this, Deschamps has acknowledged that it certainly will not be easy despite having drawn against Spain in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

France managed a 1-1 draw in the away leg, which means that they will be able to open a four-point advantage with a victory in the home match. Spain come into the encounter on the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw with Finland, which has raised the alarm bells within the Spanish contingent. There is a real danger of the current holders being forced to qualify for the competition by playoffs, which certainly will not be easy given that the play-offs is expected to contain teams like England.

Ribery has been in influential form for the club and national team this season, and Deschamps has said that he will be the main man against Spain. The 29-year-old could not only supply ammunition to the likes of Karim Benzema, but he can also score them as well.

"Ribery is a player capable of making the difference any time. I won't say if he'll play on Tuesday or not, but I know his qualities well. It's a big loss for them. (Nacho) Monreal is a high-quality player, but he isn't at the same level as Alba," said the French manager ahead of the match. The two-point advantage could be turned into a one-point deficit if they lose this match. France have managed just two wins in the last four matches.
