UNITED IN €70M BID FOR EVANILSON

Premier League club Manchester United are preparing to make a fresh bid for FC Porto attacker Evanilson. This is according to Monday's edition of Jornal de Noticias. Manchester United initially made an offer worth €60m plus add-ons for Evanilson, but it was rejected by his Portuguese team. The offer turned down by the Portuguese champions was the opening bid from the Red Devils. It was reported that Manchester United are ready to make a second bid of €70m.

FC Porto striker Evanilson is a target for Manchester United after they missed out on signing Uruguayan star Darwin Nunez from Benfica. The Red Devils were beaten to the signing of Nunez by arch rivals Liverpool in a deal worth €100m. Benfica agreed a deal worth €75m in initial fee and €25 in add-ons for the Uruguayan to sign for Liverpool.

The first Manchester United offer for Evanilson was said to be €60m plus €5m in add-ons. The second offer from the Premier League giants would be a significant increase on the first offer as revealed by the aforementioned media portal. The Red Devils want to make a bid of €70m plus add-ons for the player in what would be their second bid.
Manchester United officials are confident that the new bid would be enough to sign the striker from FC Porto since it's closer to the club's €80m valuation of the player. Jorge Mendes is one of the most popular football agents around and he could be key to the Evanilson to Manchester United deal. Mendes has already overseen deals involving Fabio Vieira and Vitinha. Vieira has signed for Arsenal from FC Porto, while Vitinha is on his way from FC Porto to Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
Manchester United target Evanilson joined FC Porto from Tombense in 2020 and he went on to score ten goals in 29 appearances in his debut season. For his second season during the just concluded campaign, the 22-year-old scored 22 goals plus five assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.
